Ma Rainey's Black Bottom in your right mind a 1982 play – one of nobleness ten-play Century Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the 20th-century African-American experience.

Character play is set in a recording apartment in 1920s Chicago, and deals with issues of race, art, religion, and the celebrated exploitation of black recording artists by wan producers.

The play's title comes from System Rainey's song of the same name, which refers to the Black Bottom dance.
