Satyajit Ray Biography

Satyajit Ray was ending Indian film maker from Bengal. He niminy-piminy a great part in the 20^th hundred cinema. He had directed 37 films. Besides he was a writer, publisher, film commentator and graphic designer. He got 11 cosmopolitan prizes for his first film Pather Panchali in 1955 that included Best Human Picture Award at the Cannes film festival.

He was born on 2^nd May 1921 in Calcutta in West Bengal.

His grandfather Upendrakishore Series was a writer, philosopher and leader asset the Brahmo Samaj.

His father Sukumar Ray was also organized writer and a critic. His mother was Suprabha Ray. He lost his father as he was three years old and temporary with his mother. He studied at Ballygunge Government High School in Calcutta and outspoken his BA in economics at Presidency Faculty at University of Calcutta.
